The agreement
By installing or using Stonekept, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't install. The Stonekept app is provided as-is. Paid tiers are billed through Apple's App Store under Apple's standard subscription terms.
Who can use Stonekept
Stonekept is intended for adults and is not directed at children. You must be at least 13 years old to use it (at least 16 in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, or the minimum age of digital consent in your country if that is higher), and by using Stonekept you confirm you meet this. We do not knowingly let anyone under these ages create a paid account. Because free use involves no account and keeps everything on your device, there is usually nothing on our servers in the first place, and on-device data can be deleted in the app at any time. If we learn that a paid account belongs to someone under the minimum age, we will delete that account and all of its data, which we can do without reading it because it is encrypted. If you believe this applies to a child, contact us.
Your account
Free users do not need an account. Paid tiers require an email and an Apple ID. You're responsible for keeping your account credentials and recovery phrase safe. We cannot recover your memories if you lose the recovery phrase, because we cannot decrypt them.
Your content
You own your recordings, transcripts, and extracted memories. Stonekept does not claim a license to use, train on, or redistribute them. When you use Sync, they are backed up and moved between your devices only as encrypted blobs we cannot read.
Our models
The on-device AI models Stonekept downloads (including the extraction models named Stonekept Small and Stonekept Large) are proprietary, fine-tuned model weights owned by Stonekept and licensed to you for use on your own devices, through the official Stonekept apps, only. You may not redistribute them, extract or re-host the weight files, use them in or with any other software, or train another model from them. They are fine-tuned derivatives of Apache-2.0-licensed Qwen base models by the Qwen team, Alibaba Cloud; the base models' notices continue to apply. The full license accompanies the model downloads. Separately downloaded open-source weights (such as the speaker-diarization models) keep their own MIT licenses.
Acceptable use
- Do not use Stonekept to record people without their consent where consent is required by local law. You are the recorder and are responsible for following the law where you are; see Recording and the law in our privacy policy for a summary by region.
- Do not attempt to abuse the broker, the AI access tunnel, or the App Store billing in ways that disrupt other users.
Termination
You can cancel a subscription anytime through the App Store. Canceling reverts you to the Free tier. We may terminate accounts that violate these terms.
Changes
We may update these terms. We'll notify subscribers by email before material changes take effect.
